The entire Asian Pickles Series is a MUST READ for anyone who enjoys flavorful food. Seriously, I feel comfortable being that broad. These books are genius and fun to read!
I stumbled across Karen Solomon's books ("Jam it..." and "Can it..." about a year ago and was hooked by her superb recipes and engaging conversational style. When I found her pickle e-books (Korea, Japan, and China, in addition to India), I was delighted--I love these condiments when I visit various ethnic restaurants, but it had never occurred to me to make them at home. Solomon's recipes are rock solid--by and large the ingredients are easy to find, all the instructions are crystal clear, and the results are terrific. Brava!
